Administering Medicine
No tablet or medicine can be administered without written permission from parents. Necessary medications are to be handed to Office Staff for storage in the Sick Bay.
If your child has a medical problem, it is essential that the class teacher and school office be informed of it. This information will be kept confidential.
Dental Services
The school Dental Clinic is situated at the Albury Community Health Centre. It is open to all children from K-6 and is free of charge. It is staffed by qualified Dental Therapists and Dentists. Written parental permission is obtained prior to any treatment.
Head Lice
You are asked to keep a constant check on your child's hair to see that no infestation has taken place. (If eggs are found the hair should be treated immediately).
Occasionally the P&C run a "Nitbusters" day. With parent permission, students are checked and then confidentially notified if infected or clean. A great initiative by the P&C, which provides support and advice for parents. Please contact the school for additional information.
Please remember that all children can get nits - it is not confined to dirty hair, in fact nits like clean hair.
Illness
If your child becomes ill at school or is injured you will be notified. If you are unavailable the person nominated as a emergency will be phoned. Please ensure the school is aware of your choice of emergency contact and that information is current.
Please do not send your child to school if they are ill. A list of Infectious diseases can be obtained at the school office.
All children sent to sick bay throughout the day will be given a pink "Sick Bay Notification Form" to take home.
Immunisation
Parents are reminded of the need for children to be immunised against diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles and mumps. Boosters for some of these will be needed before your child begins school. Children entering Kindergarten from 1994 have been required to produce an Immunisation Certificate. Details of this can be obtained from your doctor, Community Health and the school.
