Reading Recovery
Reading Recovery is a unique program for students in Year 1 who have been identified as having difficulties in learning to read. The aim is to support young readers to develop reading skills before they move into higher grades. The program is highly successful.
Howlong Public School is extremely fortunate to have four trained teachers. The program has run for many years and will continue in 2009.
SLA
Caters for student learning difficulties. The SLA teacher works with the classroom teacher to assess and develop programs for children experiencing difficulties with Literacy and Mathematics.
Technology
The school is fortunate to have computers in all classrooms and a brand new Computer Lab. All computers are networked and have access to email and internet.
Staff are committed to ongoing Training & Development in Technology to align with current Department practices.
Howlong Public School is leading Riverina schools in email usage.
